Denbighshire County Council said that work on the pedestrian and cycle bridge is otherwise progressing well. The 45m bridge mast arrived on site in three sections, and has now been installed.

The first of the two glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) decks was installed on 10 June and installation of the southern span will now take place on 4 July, wind conditions permitting. The 32m GFRP spans are relatively light, with each weighing about 8,000kg.

The spans were fabricated by AM Structures on the Isle of Wight and delivered to site in March and May respectively.

Railings and feature lighting were then installed on site.

The mast is seated at a central caisson, which also houses the lifting mechanism for the bridge's opening spans.
