Erection has begun of the steel tubular sections for the central arch of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas, Texas, USA.

The US$117 million cable-stayed bridge, which is part of a project to develop the Trinity River corridor, has been designed by Santiago Calatrava. Steelwork for the arch has been fabricated by Cimolai in Italy.

The arch will reach a height of 122m and the bridge will have a total length of 570m with a main span of 365m. Completion is due in 2011.
