A new bridge designed by Royal Haskoning has been lifted into place over the Reach Lode waterway in Cambridgeshire, England. The bridge forms part of Lodes Way, a 14.5km public access route being created by the National Trust to link Wicken Fen with Anglesey Abbey and Bottisham.

The bridge has been designed to blend into the landscape and has gently sloping ramps to provide easy access for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It will be opened in September together with a new cycle way across Burwell Fen.

Lodes Way is part of the Wicken Fen Vision, a 100 year project to create a landscape-scale nature reserve and 'green lung' for Cambridgeshire and the east of England. The route will also complete a gap in the national cycle route.
