AkzoNobel's International Paint business has been chosen to supply high-performance coating systems for the Chenab Bridge in India.
International will supply products including its patented Interfine acrylic polysiloxane range for the arch bridge. . The bridge will span the Chenab River between Bakkal and Kauri at a record-breaking height of 359m above the river bed. Completed of the bridge is due in 2013 and it will be part of a new railway line being developed by Indian Railways to link the Kashmir region with the rest of India.
The bridge has been designed by WSP Consulting Kortes with Leonhardt, Andra & Partner.
