China's official news agency Xinhua is reporting that three people were killed when a section of the approach to a new suspension bridge collapsed today.
The eight-lane Yangmingtan Bridge opened late last year. The collapse is reported to have happened 3.5km from the main part of the bridge, which is more than 15km long.
The reports say that four trucks fell from the US$300m (£190m) bridge.
