The Czech rail authority Správa železnic has invited entries to a design bridge design competition.
The new bridge will take the high-speed line between Svetlá and Sázavou and Velká Bíteší over the Oslava River at Velké Mezirící in the south of the country.

The aim of the anonymous competition is to find a technically and economically viable design that will integrate the bridge in to the landscape and highlight its aesthetic value. The process will have two phases: the design of the bridge; followed by a conceptual phase which focuses on its relationship with the landscape. Emphasis will be placed on sustainability.
