Spain’s rail authority, Adif, has put out to tender a project to update fifteen historic metal bridges on the Alcázar de San Juan–Cádiz railway line.

The work includes cleaning and reinforcing of abutments and cleaning and painting of the metal structures in the Despeñaperros national park about 260km south of Madrid. There are four bridges ranging in length from 19m to 44m, and nine bridges ranging between 26m to 55m, as well as one of 77m and another 115m.
Adif has set aside US$7 million for the contract.
