The bridge, which will have three lanes in each direction, will be built under a US$24 million contract with the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA).

The scheme is intended to improve traffic flows at one of the city’s key interchanges, which links a number of highways. “The new bridge will offer smooth movement for vehicles inbound from Oud Metha Road and outbound eastward to Al Ain Exit,” said Maitha bin Udai, CEO of RTA Traffic & Roads Agency. “ It will also improve the traffic flow from the Sheikh Rashid Road to Oud Metha Road in the west.”
