Construction is set to begin of the first of two new bridges linking South Africa and Botswana.
The South African government has awarded a US$9 million tender for construction of the bridge over the Notwane River and a groundbreaking ceremony for the 14-month project will be held in a few weeks.
Botswana is taking responsibility for a second cross-border project, the Plaatjan Bridge.
