The central 270t steel arch of the long-awaited new bridge over Venice's Grand Canal is due to arrive on site tomorrow night for placement early next week.
The bridge's two 15m-long 100t lateral sections were delivered and positioned last week. The steel and glass structure - which will be only the fourth bridge to span the main canal in the Italian city - has been designed by Santiago Calatrava.
