Demathieu and Bard awarded Goodco Z-Tech the contract to provide the joints for Phase B of Canada’s largest-ever bridge rehabilitation project.

Phase B includes replacement of the bridge deck over the river from the north abutment on Montreal Island to piers  on the South Shore together with the expansion joints for the section.

The terms of the contract include the design and fabrication of bolt-down expansion joints, with four deliveries starting this year and ending in spring 2013.

The Honoré Mercier Bridge crosses the St Lawrence River and St Lawrence Seaway between the borough of LaSalle, on the Island of Montreal, and the Mohawk reserve of Kahnawake, on the South Shore. It was opened in 1934. The bridge is owned by Jacques Cartier & Champlain Bridges Incorporated.
