John Holland has been appointed to build a 1.6km bridge as part of a contract for flood mitigation work in Queensland, Australia.
The announcement came yesterday, when the official commissioning took place of John Holland’s earlier work to build a highway for the first part of the same Yeppen North project.
The Australian and Queensland governments have committed the US$270 million needed for the next stage of the Yeppen floodplain upgrade. The second stage involves extending the flood-resilient corridor by constructing a new raised carriageway, including the 1.6km-long bridge.
