A new bridge which is being built over the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal in Utrecht is due to be opened to cyclists at the end of this year. Specialist contractor Mammoet recently installed the cables and deck of the bridge during closures of the waterway. Main contractor is Strabag.
The suspension bridge is about 100m long and its towers rise to approximately 35m above the water surface while the deck is some 9m above the water.
