Deadline approaches in Bosphorus bid
Bidding closes next week for the revised tender to build the third Borphorus Bridge.
The project is being tendered again as no-one bid in January. The size of the scheme has now been scaled down to about US$2.5 billion from the original US$6 billion.
The bridge is being bid in parallel with a contract to privatise 2,236km of highways including the two existing Bosphorus bridges.
Final bids for the building of the third bridge over the Bosphorus takes place on 5 April, which is also the final application date for preliminary qualification regarding the highway and bridges privatisation.
The bridges and highways that will be privatised as a single package include; the two bridges over the Bosphorus with their ring roads as well as eight other motorways. The final bidding date is 17 May.
