New Jersey Department of Transportation has closed the northbound travel lanes on the Route 1&9 Pulaski Skyway for approximately two years to allow rehabilitation of the bridge deck.
The first piece of the deck was removed last week as part of the US$1 billion rehabilitation project.
The closure is necessary to replace the entire 82-year-old bridge deck. The bridge normally has two lanes for northbound motorists and two for southbound motorists.
