Louis Berger has been awarded the contract by the Engineering, Design & Research Centre (EDRC) of L&T’s special bridges division.

The extradosed cable-stayed bridge will connect Ambedkar University to the Inorbit Mall in the suburb of Madhapur. It will be approximately 735m long, with the focal extradosed section having a 234m main span flanked by a 96m span at each end. The bridge’s 26m overall width will accommodate a two-lane carriageway and footpath on each side of the divided carriageway.

Under the contract, Louis Berger will provide an independent design review of the main extradosed cable-stayed bridge and approach viaduct spans, as well as of the approach road, geotechnical interpretative report and highway alignment.

The total estimated cost of construction is US$22.8m.
