The bridge, which is due for completion in 2010, will have a main span of more than 231m, which is believed to make it the longest in the USA for a concrete box girder. The U$82.8 million project for the West Virginia Department of Transportation includes eights spans with a total length of almost 900m. The continuous girder has a varying depth of 4.9m to 11.6m at the main span and a constant 4.9m depth for the approaches. The structure is designed to be built by balanced cantilever using form travellers with 175 cast-in-situ segments.
