Gamuda has secured a US$171 million contract for the 3km-long Sitra Causeway in Bahrain. The Malaysian company beat nine other contractors in an international open tender. Work will start later this year and involves the construction of 200m and 400m-long concrete bridges together with 2.4km of embankments. There will also be flyovers at both ends of the causeway.
