A joint venture of Germany's Züblin and UAE contractor Saif Bin Darwish has been awarded a US$183 million contract for the construction of the Saadiyat Bridge. Work will start straightaway on the bridge which will link Abu Dhabi with Saadiyat Island. The 1.5km segmental concrete box girder structure will carry 10 traffic lanes and also makes provision for future rail tracks.
