A glass box enclosure on the main span will transition into a 4.5m high barrier which is intended to provide noise protection while looking attractive. Another innovative feature of this project is an orthotropic deck slab.
Working on the bridge, which is managed by DEGES, is Max Bögl group, B+S and Mensinger Stadler, K+S Consult and PIS Pechal.
The new bridge is part of a project to connect two major roads in order to bypass the town of Halle.
