Balfour Beatty VINCI reports that it is putting the finishing touches on a bridge with two nature corridors that will carry a major road – as well as wildlife – over a new rail route.

The 42m wide bridge near Kenilworth in Warwickshire, required a pour of 1,900m3 of concrete for its single-span deck slab. The structure was built alongside Stoneleigh Road, and engineers will soon realign this dual carriageway over the bridge.
The two 9m nature strips either side of the carriageway will be planted with hedgerows and vegetation. Traffic will start using the bridge in the autumn.
HS2 is a high-speed railway construction project that aims to connect the UK capital London with the north of England.
