India’s Northern Railway has signed a bridge construction contract worth US$132.2 million with a JV consisting of Rail Vikas Nigam and GPT Infraprojects.
The project to build a rail and road bridge over the River Ganga at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, northern India, has an aggressive 48-month timeline. The open web steel girder bridge will have four railway lines on the lower deck and six road lanes on the upper deck.
