Mobilisation works for India's highest steel arch rail bridge are in full swing with construction due for completion in early 2007. The bridge over the Chenab River will reach 359m from the river bed with a single span of 480m. A second steel arch will cross the River Anjikhad with a span of 240m. A joint venture of Afcons India and Ultra Construction & Engineering Company of Korea is building the Chenab bridge while Gammon India and Archirodon Construction is the joint venture contractor for the Anjikhad bridge.
