A project to rehabilitate a steel truss bridge using an FRP deck has won the Civil Engineering Research Foundation's 2000 Charles Pankow Award. The scheme was carried out by New York State Department of Transportation and allowed weight restrictions to be removed from the bridge, and also saved some US$1.4 million.
