A team of Lunda and Ames has been awarded a US$119.8 million design and build contract for the new Highway 61 Hastings Bridge over the Mississippi River.
The bridge's main span features a free-standing arch.
Construction is scheduled to begin in October. Opening will be phased, with two of the four lanes due to open to traffic in summer 2012 and final completion by May 2013. There is also provision for cyclists and pedestrians.
