NCC has been commissioned to build part of Norway’s second-longest suspension bridge.
NCC will build the two 170m-tall concrete pylons and the two side spans for the bridge on the E6 expressway under a US$112m contract.
The pylons will be slipformed in concrete by NCC’s specialist slip-casting company.
The bridge, which is scheduled for completion in 2017, is part of aproject to improve the E6 expressway between Narvik and Bjerkvik. It will cut the road journey between the two cities by 18km.
Work is scheduled to begin in August.
