A 7km bridge over Russia's Volga River has reopened to traffic after being closed last week following a period of vibrations with amplitudes of more than a metre.
The vibrations occured for about half an hour during a windy period last week. Inspections have concluded that the bridge is structurally sound but additional monitoring equipment will be fitted so that it can be closed quickly in case of further incidents.
The multi-span concrete bridge in the city of Volgograd was opened last year.
