Perth & Kinross Council in Scotland has unveiled possible designs for a new foot and cycle bridge over the River Tay. The planned bridge will be part of a national TV show being screened in November in which projects will compete for US$100 million of lottery funding.

The council is urging local people to show their support by phoning in their votes during the show. The bridge is part of a set of 79 schemes nationwide being put forward by sustainable transport charity Sustrans. Bow string arch, cable-stayed, three span arch and trapezoidal box designs have been proposed.
