Consultants had until last week to submit expressions of interest for supervision work for both the new construction and the rehabilitation of the existing bridge. The work has an estimated combined construction value of US$78 million.

The new bridge will be 375m long and have six spans. Its superstructure consists of prestressed/post-tensioned concrete spliced girders with a reinforced concrete deck slab.

Construction is expected to take 43 months, with completion due in 2012.
