Proposals for a cross-border bridge linking Northern Ireland and the Irish state have gone on display.

Three design options were originally studied, and the preferred option and route for Narrow Water Bridge were announced yesterday, following public consultation earlier in the year.

Consulting engineer for the project is Roughan & O'Donovan. The bridge would span Carlingford Lough between Omeath in County Louth and Narrow Water Castle in County Down, cutting several kilometres off the journey.

The closing date for comments to Louth County Council is 21 November.
