A network arch bridge under construction features a fully aluminium support structure, with one-third of the material being recycled from the decommissioned Gyda Oil Platform, and stainless steel tension rods. The footbridge measures 55m by 9m and weighs 60t.

The project is a collaboration between the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and Leirvik, a leading engineering, procurement, and construction supplier for aluminium projects.

Work on the bridge started in May. The crossing is expected to be installed in Trondheim, Norway's third most populous city, in June 2025. Once complete, the footbridge will carry pedestrians and cyclists over the railway lines at Leangen Station toward the city centre.

The upcoming Bd&e issue 116 will feature an article on the project.
