Saskatchewan's highways and infrastructure minister Jim Ritter has set out the timetable for the new St Louis Bridge in the Canadian province.
Design work for the bridge abutments and foundations will be completed by the end of August and construction is due to begin at the end of this year, with the bridge opening in late 2012.
The US$26 million bridge will be built 1.6km east of the existing crossing in a location chosen for its foundation conditions, alignment, economy and minimal impact on agricultural land.
