Skanska has announced that it has been awarded a US$260 million design and build contract in joint venture with Facchina Constuction for the reconstruction of the 11th Street Bridges and adjacent interchanges in Washington DC, USA.
The contract includes construction of three major bridge crossings over the Anacostia River and two interchanges. One crossing involves two separate bridges, each carrying regional traffic in one direction. The other bridge is for local traffic.
Skanska will act as managing partner with a 70% share of the contract.
The project is due for completion in May 2013.
