The Ministry of Public Works of Suriname has announced that it seeks to end its US$45 million contract with Ballast Nedam for the design and construction of the Carolina Bridge.
The ministry has said that it wishes to open consultations with Ballast Nedam in order to achieve a proper settlement regarding the bridge over the Suriname River.
The contract had been signed last month and had been due to reach financial close on 1 August.
