The three multidisciplinary teams are: • Connect 202 Partners (including Fluor Enterprises, Granite Construction, Ames Construction and Parsons Brinckerhoff); South Mountain Development Group (including Kiewit Development Company, Sundt Construction, Parsons Transportation Group, Gannett Fleming) and South Mountain Mobility Group (including Dragados USA, Flatiron Constructors, Aecom and Michael Baker).
This megaproject includes the design, construction, and 30-year maintenance of the last section of the Loop 202 Freeway, which will stretch 35km from the Maricopa Freeway segment of Interstate 10 to the Papago Freeway segment of the I-10 in the southwestern quadrant of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. This project will be the first highway project procured under Arizona’s public-private-partnership statute and ADOT’s first design-build-maintain project.
ADOT will fund the project capital costs with a combination of available public funds from sales tax revenues and tax-exempt bonds. The DOT intends to issue the final Request for Proposals late this spring, with the best-value selection and award of the design-build-maintain agreement anticipated for the end of this year.
