Schlaich Bergermann und Partner has announced that its New York office and Hatch Mott MacDonald have won the design competition for the Boy Scout Bridge in West Virginia, USA.

The 250m-long pedestrian suspension bridge will be at the Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, also known as the Summit. The reserve will become the new national venue for scout jamborees.

The bridge features two 'walkable' cables, which run over columns that fan out.
