Prime minister Hubert Minnis took part in the signing ceremony for the bridge, which will be built by Bahamas Marine Construction to a design by the project engineering team of ETS/Parsons. Client for the scheme is the Ministry of Public Works.
The new bridge is intended to provide better protection for marine life as well as improving travel in the Andros archipelago. It will replace an existing causeway that is in poor condition.
