A 900m-long viaduct with piers up to 95m high will be built under a US$226 million contract won by a joint venture led by Strabag subsidiary Adanti.
The contract involves upgrading an 11km stretch of State Road 223 between Grosseto and Siena in Tuscany, Italy. It includes three junctions, six tunnels – the longest measuring 1.5km – and five viaducts.
Bologna-based Adanti will carry out the work together with consortium partner Vittadello Intercantieri di Padova. Adanti’s share of the contract amounts to 65%.
Construction is set to begin in the spring of 2012 and take two and a half years.
