Photomontage of the southern sea viaduct of TM-CLKL connecting to the Hong Kong boundary crossing facilities

The contract includes detailed design as well as supervisory and resident site staff responsibilities. Aecom will provide reference design, detailed design and contract administration during the construction of the TM-CLKL, which will provide the most direct route between Hong Kong’s Northwest New Territories, the Hong Kong boundary crossing facilities of the HZMB, Hong Kong International Airport and Lantau Island. The project works comprise a dual two-lane highway approximately 9.65km long, made up of viaduct and tunnel sections. Work is expected to be completed during 2017.

It has previously been announced by the Hong Kong government that the link will be implemented in phases to avoid holding up the 2016 scheduled opening of the bridge.

“This is the second design and construction consultancy that Aecom has won for Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge related projects,” said Aecom chairman and chief executive officer John Dionisio. “We are honoured to partner with Hong Kong’s Highways Department to play a key role in its continuing development of Hong Kong’s transportation infrastructure.”
