Auckland City Council in New Zealand has announced an international open competition to find an iconic concept design for a bridge on the city's waterfront.
The council is also calling for teams to express interest in final design and build for the new US$27 million bridge. The Te Wero Bridge will be built in an area known as Viaduct Harbour, which plays host to some of the city's largest events such as the America's Cup. It will span about 100m and must open for regular boat traffic.
