This year’s budget has reserved US$154 million towards building the second Grafton Bridge, about 70m downstream of the existing crossing (pictured below).

The Grafton Bridge proposal is being assessed as a state significant infrastructure project by the NSW Department of Planning & Environment.  Community feedback on the proposal was gathered during August and September.

A total of 23 submissions were received in response to the environmental impact statement including six from government authorities. Topics addressed in the comments include the project alternatives and justification as well as traffic and transport issues.
