Design of the bridge has been awarded to the Prointec Consortium, which is made up of Intec, Prosul and Innovación y Excelencia.
Tasks for the consortium include studies of the project’s technical, economic and socio-environmental feasibility followed by the final engineering design and supervision of the construction.
The contract has a value of about US$4 million, which was about 45% lower than the initial estimate.
