The filigree steel bridge connects a redeveloped port district, Valongo Park, and the city centre. It spans Rua Antonio Prado and a railway. It has ramps as well as steps to give barrier-free passage between the two neighbourhoods.

Working for railway operators RUMO and AGFIPS, sbp took on the architecture and the structural engineering, with MEP by Lumens. The foundation design was by Consultrix and the accessibility consultant was Renata Maraschin. The contractor was Praeng.
