Baker awarded 2002 biennial inspection of Verrazano-Narrows Bridge
Baker Engineering NY has been selected by MTA Bridges and Tunnels, also known as the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority, to perform the 2002 Biennial Inspection of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge - BIN Group D, New York City's longest suspension span connecting the boroughs of Brooklyn and Staten Island. Once known as the longest suspension span in the world, the Verrazano- Narrows Bridge is one of the most heavily travelled bridges in New York City. Under this US$800,000 contract, Baker will provide biennial inspection services, which include "hands-on" field inspection, structural analysis, database management, and writing and compilation of inspection reports for the client, Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority, and the New York State Department of Transportation.
