China's Changhai County is developing a new island tourist resort, which will involve major infrastructure investment including a 1.8km bridge.
Changshan Archipelago Resort is intended to expand the development of a region that currently depends largely on fishing.
China's National Tourism Administration said that among the largest of the scheme's infrastructure projects planned for this year is a 1,770m-long bridge crossing the sea between the islands of Dachangshan and Xiaochangshan.
