Planners have approved a design for the Fundy Discovery Centre Active Travel Bridge in Nova Scotia, Canada.
As well as providing a crossing for walkers and wheelers, the 130m wooden structure will also serve snow clearing and maintenance vehicles.

The Fundy Discovery Centre allows visitors to experience one of the highest tides on earth. A tidal bore occurs twice a day on the Salmon River near the municipality of Colchester. The bridge will have a rest area to allow users to observe the phenomenon.
Planners in Colchester approved the under girder bridge design supported by three in-stream piers. The handrail rises and falls in vertical waves along the span in a gesture inspired by the curved rooflines of indigenous architecture.
