The Canadian Government has announced a shared space for two transport safety bodies to promote research advances.
The Government of Canada has awarded a contract for the building of a new Transportation Safety and Technology Science (TSTS) hub to bring federal scientists and investigators under one roof. The hub will house the Transportation Safety Board of Canada and the National Research Council (NRC), and will be located on the NRC’s campus in Ottawa.
The facility will be a space for engineers and scientists to collaborate with industry partners on safety technologies and risk reduction in rail, marine, air and pipeline sectors. The hub is part of the Laboratories Canada strategy, which aims to create safe, sustainable and flexible spaces for the nation’s science community.
