Maryland Transportation Authority said that a thorough inspection was conducted but that nothing out of order was found and the bridge has been found safe for travel.

Officials discussed the situation with the on-site inspectors and other national bridge experts. It has been determined the unusual movement felt by crews on the bridge were caused by wind patterns, coupled with the containment measures such as tarpaulins that are in place on the bridge towers for ongoing rehabilitation work. These containment measures have now been removed.
