The bridge and associated highway will link the city centre with Noi Bai International Airport.

The opening date has been set for 10 October, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of Vietnam’s Liberation Day.

The link has a total length of 8.95km including a five-tower cable-stayed section.

The project’s total capital investment is some US$642 million, sourced from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JIBIC) and the Vietnamese government.

“With its technical and architecture magnificence, the bridge, the longest in Vietnam, is destined to become the new symbol of the capital city”, said Nguyen Le Minh, director of the Nhat Tan Bridge project.
