The King Fahd Causeway Authority is inviting qualified consultants to participate in the tender. It is seeking to appoint a team made up of financial, technical and legal consultants for work on the new crossing, which will be built alongside the King Fahd Causeway. The cost of the new King Hamad Causeway has been estimated at about US$4 billion.

The winning consortium will need to be led by a recognised international financial consultancy firm with proven experience in reaching financial close on public-private partnerships for major transportation projects worldwide. The consortium leader has to be a company registered in either Saudi Arabia or Bahrain; international bidders are required to submit a letter committing to completion of the required registration within 180 days from the date of notification of award.

Submissions are due in February 2019.
